Jihanzek, the Rectifier of Betrayals, is a powerful Second Circle demon. He is called Majordomo of the Iron Countinghouse, for he is an emanation of and lieutenant to The Prince Who Was a Thousand, who is the master of that place. (The Prince, in turn, is the fetich soul of The Thousandfold Principles of Obligation, who is sometimes called Justice, and sometimes also called Slavery. But it is unwise to write further of her here.) When summoned, the Rectifier of Betrayals manifests as a tall, thin man with sapphire skin and eyes are burning yellow orbs of flame, whose his feet never quite touch the ground when he walks. This is because the Earth fears the dreadful intensity of his rectitude far too much to willingly risk his touch. Indeed, when he wills it the force of his speech can strip flesh from bone, for Jihanzek never lies, and there are few who can bear very much truth.
Sorcerers summon him for two main purposes. First, in his aspect as the Rectifier of Betrayals, Jihanzek has a duty to kill traitors, and will permit himself to walk the Earth to track down and slay those guilty of breaking faith. It is worth noting that as a demon, he considers all of the Chosen to be traitors and usurpers, and any sorcerer careless enough to fail to invoke the proper terms of the surrender agreement can expect a quick death. (Marginal comment: This is true even if he is your friend; he is the Rectifier of Betrayals, and cannot choose to avoid rectifying a betrayal if he has a choice.) Second, he is the Majordomo of the Iron Countinghouse, and the coin counted in it is virtue. A sorcerer may sell bits and pieces of his or her conscience to Jihanzek, in exchange for power.
(Marginal comment: He can perform a third thing, and a fourth. The third thing: a countinghouse is a place where things are sold and bought, and one can, if one is so inclined, sell him power in exchange for wisdom. And indeed, I have often been so inclined. This is why I am not the foremost sorceress of the age, and I regret it not for an instant. And the fourth thing is that Jihanzek can be a friend. Though the current cosmic order means we are enemies, I cannot forget that he was merely on the losing side, and not intrinsically hateful. Those who deal with the Primordials and become cruel can blame no one but themselves. Jihanzek and I are friends, though we are enemies, and I trust in his honor more than I trust my own.)
